OpenStreetMap US invites you to chart the course with the mapping community at State of the Map US 2025 on June 19–21 in Boston, Massachusetts.
The Mappiest Event of the Year
State of the Map US is the largest gathering of OpenStreetMap community members from across the country. This year we’re spotlighting the successes and challenges of mobility mapping with the theme “Charting the Course”.
Come connect with mappers, businesses, academics, government agencies, and nonprofits, all collaborating around the free and editable map of the world. Whether you’re brand new to open mapping or you’re an OpenStreetMap veteran, this conference is for you.
Conference Schedule
- Thursday, June 19
- 1pm–6pm: Conference workshops at The Foundry
- 6pm–8pm: Welcome social at The Foundry
- Friday, June 20
- 8:30am–5pm: Main conference at Boston University
- 7pm–9pm: Boston Harbor cruise aboard The Lexington (extra ticket required)
- Saturday, June 21
- 8:30am–5pm: Main conference at Boston University
- Evening social event TBA
- Sunday, June 22
- No conference activities—go explore the city!

- $550 - Professional Admission: Representing an agency or company? Please purchase at this tier if you can. It helps OSM US offer lower cost tiers for those who need them.
- $280 - General Admission: Everyone else!
- $180 - Academic & Nonprofit Admission: Strictly for full time students, educators, and nonprofit staff

Attendees requiring a visa to enter the United States may request a visa letter from the conference team. We strongly recommend starting the visa process as early as possible.

Boston is a major US city that is easily accessible by air, rail, road, and marine transport. There are many hotels, but be aware that rates may be higher than the national average.
